Hallo all!
I´ve got quite a problem regarding a scientific project of mine: I need literature about how decision making works on neural basis - but the mess is, I only find papers about decision making with regard to profit, win and lose situations, risks and all that economist stuff. But what I need, is the very simplest of all situations: What happens in the brain (fMRI or something), if you are asked to chose between two options - and there will be neither future profit nor disadvatages, no risks, no consequences, you just have to choose one of two similar (or equal) options. There must be some work about choosing randomly one of two buttons or something, but I just cannot find any!
Does anyone of you have any hints for me for papers? Or perhaps I´m just searching with the wrong tag, perhaps its not "decision making" or "choosing", what could it be then?
Thank you very much, I really am in need for some help, because I´m starting to feel quite stupid for being able to do a nice project, but fail because I dont find the right search tags...;-)

Hi userfriendly,
in the broadest sense, categorization is a process of decision making, i.e., deciding into which category a stimulus has to be placed. The topic categorization is so extensive that you can be sure to find some papers of neural correlates for categorization without "the economy stuff".
It's now up to you whether you think this would be appropriate enough, but I think searching with the tag "categorization, fmri" or alike should give you at least some new directions where to look.
