I have multiple sclerosis.  I had a stroke like attack 5 years ago which left me a hemiplegic for a while.  Here is my background and question:  every month before I get my period I get an occasional pinching feeling in the back of my head on the left side.  It is not the same feeling as occipital neuralgia which I get but that is much worse and different feeling.  This feels like a quick squirt of fluid in my head so naturally I think it is the release of some girl hormone. What hormone might it be?  Or could it be a blood flow thing?  Any insight would be appreciated, Thanks!

Hi splishsplash,
thank you for your question. However, please read euglenas note:
http://www.neuroscience-forum.net/clinical_neuroscience/note_please_read_before_posting-t167.0.html

We can not give you clinical advise nor can we diagnose something going on. You should see a medic to be sure there's nothing serious going on... Sorry, we can't help you.

Thank you for responding to my post!
I did read the rules but I guess I am not asking my question clearly.
I am under the care of a great specialist and get MRIs regularly.  In the female brain, what hormone is released before menstruation and where in the head is that located?  Does that hormone increase blood flow?  I apologize if that question is still inappropriate, perhaps I should not have mentioned it is my personal history.
